CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Charlotte County Public Schools has received a $133,800 charitable gift from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to support student learning and experiences across the district. The funding will support academic field trips, hands-on learning opportunities, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports rewards and incentives, and leveled books for book vending machines.
“This generous gift will create meaningful opportunities for students across our district, both inside and outside the classroom,” Superintendent Mark Vianello said. “We are grateful for Suncoast Credit Union’s continued investment in our schools and for being a community partner that understands the importance of supporting our students and their success.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated more than $63 million.
“We’re proud to support Charlotte County Public Schools and know this funding will make a meaningful impact on students and educators throughout the district,” said Bob Hyde, vice president of community impact for Suncoast Credit Union. “We hope these resources help students learn, grow and reach their full potential.”
