SCHOOL BOARD HONORS 10 A RATED SCHOOLS Here’s what’s happening: August Highlights: CCPS Earns Cognia Accreditation: Charlotte County Public Schools has earned Cognia Accreditation, a nationally recognized mark of quality demonstrating the district’s commitment to high standards and continuous improvement. The accreditation follows a rigorous internal and external review of the district’s performance in four key areas: Culture of Learning, Leadership for Learning, Engagement of Learning and Growth in Learning. Paws on Patrol: Charlotte County Public Schools, in partnership with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, is adding another layer of security with K9 Bala, a specially trained weapons detection K9. Beginning this month, Bala and his handler, DFC Jacob Earner, will conduct routine security sweeps at schools and facilities throughout the district. Bala is trained to detect firearms and ammunition and will work alongside K9 Mila as part of CCPS’ ongoing school safety efforts.
