Welcome Back from Superintendent Mark Vianello

August 9, 2026
Welcome back! I hope each of you had an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends over the summer.

The beginning of a new school year is always filled with excitement, optimism, and opportunity. Whether you are a student walking into a classroom, a parent sending your child off to school, or an employee preparing to make a difference in the lives of children, this is a time to look ahead with hope and anticipation. I look forward to seeing our campuses once again filled with the energy and enthusiasm that make the start of each school year so special.

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we celebrate the momentum we have created together over the past few years. Thanks to the hard work of our students, employees, families, and community, Charlotte County Public Schools has achieved significant academic progress and reached new heights. While we are proud of what we have accomplished, we know our best days are still ahead. This year, we will continue building on that success with the same commitment to excellence, innovation, and high expectations for every student.

At Charlotte County Public Schools, we believe every child deserves a rigorous and relevant education. Through our Portrait of a Graduate, we are committed to ensuring every student graduates with the knowledge, skills, and plan needed to thrive in whatever path they choose, whether that path leads to post-secondary enrollment, immediate employment, or enlistment into military service.

Academic excellence and student well-being go hand in hand. Continuing our momentum requires schools where students and employees feel safe, valued, respected, and inspired to do their best every day. Every interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate the professionalism, respect, compassion, and integrity that define Charlotte County Public Schools.

This year, we will continue strengthening our safety practices through training, clear expectations, and continuous improvement while reinforcing the professionalism, respect, and accountability expected of every member of our school community. Together with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office and the Punta Gorda Police Department, we remain committed to providing secure campuses where students and employees can learn, work, and thrive.

Trust is earned every day, and we are committed to earning yours through transparency, accountability, and a focus on what is best for every student. Together, we will continue building schools where every student is challenged, every employee is supported, and every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Thank you for being part of the Charlotte County Public Schools family. Together, we will build on our momentum, continue earning the trust of our community, and make the 2026–2027 school year another year of achievement, opportunity, safety, and Success for All.
