CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Each year, the Charlotte County School District proudly celebrates the invaluable contributions of its volunteers and community partners. During the School Board meeting on April 7, 2026, the district hosted the 2025-2026 Volunteer and Business Partner Awards Ceremony, honoring those whose dedication and generosity continue to make a lasting impact on our students and schools.

Each school nominated one standout volunteer and business partner for recognition. At the district level, this year’s honorees were Bob White, executive director of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce, as Business of the Year, and the PTO Board at East Elementary School PTO as Volunteers of the Year.

White and the Chamber were recognized for their ongoing partnership and support of district priorities, strengthening the connection between education and the local business community. White’s involvement in the District Strategic Plan provides insight that supports student achievement and career readiness. The Chamber’s sponsorship of the New Educator Breakfast also reflects a clear and continued investment in supporting teachers and the future of Charlotte County schools.

Elementary PTO Board—Karisa Nell, Miranda Haugen, and Melissa McGrath—for their extraordinary commitment and hands-on leadership during the 2025-2026 school year.

By providing direct, consistent assistance within the classroom, the PTO Board ensures that teachers can remain focused on high-level instruction.

“Our partners and volunteers represent the strong support system behind our schools,” Superintendent Mark Vianello said. “Their efforts continue to make a positive impact on our students, staff, and community.”
