PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) welcomed approximately 200 high school juniors and seniors and 35 employers to Charlotte Technical College on Friday for a districtwide hiring event focused on connecting students with local employment opportunities.
The event was designed for students who have selected "Employment" as their post-graduation path—one of the district's “3E’s”: Employment, Enlistment, and Enrollment. This year, 20.7% of CCPS seniors have identified Employment as their next step after high school.
Students arrived prepared with resumes in hand, ready to distribute to employers and engage in meaningful conversations about both summer jobs and full-time career opportunities. The event gave students a valuable platform to showcase their skills, network with potential employers, and gain experience in a professional setting.
“By hosting this event, we are connecting our students to employers who are interested in hiring and growing their own talent,” said Superintendent Mark Vianello. “This is just one way we are keeping local talent, local—building the talent pipeline.”
School Board member Kim Amontree also emphasized the importance of student-centered opportunities like this: “When we dial in on what each student is truly passionate about, we unlock their potential. There are many paths after high school, and success looks different for everyone. Whether it’s a career, college, or service to our country, we are committed to helping every student find and follow their path.”
CCPS extends a thank you to all of our community partners who attended and continue to invest in the future of Charlotte County’s students. Your involvement is essential in preparing our young people for lifelong success.
