The Charlotte County School District is proud to announce that the Charlotte County School Board has achieved Master Board status by the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA). This designation acknowledges the dedication of the board members and superintendent to enhancing governance effectiveness and ultimately improving student achievement.
The FSBA Master Board Program is a rigorous governance team training designed to fortify the leadership team's capacity to collaborate efficiently and effectively while maintaining a steadfast focus on the success of all. Over the past several months, our board members and superintendent have invested 20 hours in tailored professional development sessions, meticulously crafted to address the specific needs of our district.
The leadership curriculum offers meaningful learning sessions concentrating on student achievement through the five components of the FSBA Governance Model. Some of the skills, knowledge, processes and concepts offered through the leadership curriculum include supporting student achievement, self-assessment, consensus building, establishing trust, conflict resolution, roles and responsibilities, leadership and communication styles, team development, core beliefs, systems thinking, district culture, problem solving and understanding the importance of a district strategic plan.
Currently, 34 school boards across the state hold Master Board certification.
