Charlotte County Public School District Achieves Distinction as ‘B’ Rated District

Earlier today, The Florida Department of Education released 2023 school & district grades established under new performance expectations, or cut scores under revised achievement levels, for the FAST assessments in English Language Arts (grades 3-10), Mathematics (grades 3-8), and the B.E.S.T.-aligned EOCs (Algebra 1 & Geometry).
Today’s release of 2023 district and school grades provides the following overall highlights:
• The district has improved its overall ranking from 33rd to 24th.
• The # of A schools in the district is 4.
• The # of B schools in the district is 13.
• The percentage of students achieving on-grade level or higher performance in English language arts is 53% (+2%).
• The percentage of students achieving on-grade level or higher performance in mathematics is 55% (+1%).
• The percentage of students achieving on-grade level or higher performance in science is 57% (+1%).
• The percentage of students achieving on-grade level or higher performance in Social Studies is 66% (-4%).
