Champ’s Café Summer Food Program Continues to be a Success
Champs Café of Charlotte county public schools continues it’s commitment to fighting child hunger in our community! Since June 1st, 2023 the C.O.W (Champ’s on Wheels) has been on the move. Along with the mobile feeding bus, Champ’s café has been serving meals to children 18 and under at multiple locations. These locations and times can be found on the Summer Food Service Program website.
So far this summer from June 1st – June 26th the summer food program has served a total of: 3066 Breakfasts, 11491 Lunches and 4134 snacks! This is just the beginning, the program will be continuing at most locations until July 28th. We here at Charlotte County Public Schools want to extend a big thank you to our food service personnel who work so hard to make this possible.
We want to invite you to join us in the fight to end child hunger this summer. Together we can strive to serve more meals in July than we did in June! All you have to do is share our program with families in the community. One of the easiest ways you can do that is by Sharing or printing out the Summer food service program flyer. We can even extend beyond our own community by sharing the Summer Break Spot website which empowers families to find free summer meals for children throughout the entire state of Florida.
Thanks again to Champ’s Café for such an amazing program, and thanks to you for helping to make it a success by sharing.
