Congratulations to these students for being nominated for the 2022 Sunshine State Scholars Program. The purpose of this program is to recognize students that are achieving excellence in STEM education, to assist students and their parents in preparing for post-secondary education pursuits, and to enrich student interest in continuing the path to STEM-related careers.

The nominees are:

• Kajsa Thahira Carlsen - Port Charlotte High School

• Austin "Gray" Lowder - Lemon Bay High School

• Jennifer Deeble - Florida Southwest Collegiate

• Brock Murphy - Charlotte Virtual School

• Sylar Robbins - Charlotte High School. 

The recipient Scholar was awarded to Skylar Robbins of Charlotte High School and the Alternate Scholar was awarded to Kajsa Thahira Carlsen of Port Charlotte High School.
