This is Steve Dionisio Superintendent of Charlotte County Schools.
When the Governor and the Commissioner of Education of Florida announced their decision for students to return to school fully in the fall, CCPS began to put things in place to do everything possible to bring students and staff back to school in the fall in the safest way possible.
I have met with many groups to assist in troubleshooting ideas as well as receiving many emails offering ideas to assist us in our transition back to school in the fall.
All of this has allowed us to continue to fine tune our return to school plan to make the return as safe as possible.
CCPS students will return fully in the fall. What that looks like will continue to be modified daily right up to the return to make sure we have done the best we can within our current staff and facility layout to keep our staff and students as safe as possible.
For those families looking to continue in a virtual learning format, Charlotte Virtual School will be your alternative option. There is information on our District Website to assist you with this. In addition, homeschool continues to be an option for families.
I will stay in contact with you as much as possible throughout the summer to keep you updated.
Please continue to monitor the District and School websites for updates on summer happenings and the upcoming school year.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your patience and cooperation during this time.
Please continue to have a great summer and stay safe.
