Message from our Leadership
Positive Astros:
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year here at Neil Armstrong Elementary (NAE), Home of the Positive Astros! This year we are focusing on Building Leaders with Grit and Glue! This means we are practicing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids to develop students who have strong character skills and high academic achievement. Our Mission Statement here is “Neil Armstrong Elementary will lead by example to develop character and competence in every student.” This takes a lot of Grit. Having Grit means that we must have perseverance to push through any challenge or obstacle for achievement regardless of outside circumstances or situations. Then, we must make it all stick with Glue. Sticking with Glue means having a passion to push through barriers, determination to keep at the challenge, a growth mindset, and a positive attitude to make connections that will make all things work together. We are excited to be Building Leaders with Grit and Glue!
NAE is a nationally recognized Leader in Me Legacy school. We are privileged to offer our students learning opportunities that will best prepare them for the future ahead. NAE’s Vision states “Student Success in the 21st Century”! This means we hope to help our students grow to be leaders in citizenship and academics so that they are prepared to lead the next generation.
We have worked hard to build a positive and exciting learning culture at NAE and consistently strive to provide an exceptional education for all of our students. We would not be able to do any of this without our parents’ ongoing support! We are honored that you place your trust in us to educate your child. We appreciate your support with our procedures and policies so that we can run a highly effective school. Please keep in mind that Charlotte County Public School District is committed to providing an exceptional education for each of our students. In order to do this, district and school leaders have set a goal to spend a minimum of two full days per week in classrooms to support the teaching and learning that happens on a daily basis in our classrooms. Therefore, we ask for your patience and understanding that we may not always be able to speak with you when you drop in or telephone us. However, please know that we really do value communicating with you in a timely manner. With this in mind, we ask that you contact our secretary, Mrs. Kristie Lawson, who will be happy to schedule a mutually convenient time for us to talk if you ever have any questions or concerns.
Please carefully read the information below so that you are aware of our policies and procedures as we begin the new school year. It is important to note that we have updated our policies to ensure our staff and students’ safety and well-being.
Leading by Example,
Mrs. Melody Hazeltine, Principal
Mrs. Brianna Welsh, Assistant Principal
