Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Amanda Armenio
Welcome! I'm so glad you're a part of the TV Production Program here at CHS (or that you're checking us out!). I am in my seventh year teaching TV Production here. Prior to that I spent five years at Punta Gorda Middle teaching English, Yearbook, Speech and Debate, and Creative Writing. I also spent a year at Lemon Bay teaching English. Before that I was in full time ministry, serving as the Director of Student Ministries, Worship Leader, and Media Specialist for a local 2000 member church.
It is my distinct privilege to teach TV Production as I believe it combines creativity, journalism, computer skills, and practical skills perfectly. Not only does it allow students a creative outlet, but it offers skills that will serve to be useful in future careers, incuding video editing, adherence to deadlines, and industry certification.
I first started editing videos in about 2001 when I was in Graduate School. Apple had recently released it's iMac computer, which came equipped with iMovie. I loved it! I found a way to incorporate video into every project that I did and from that point on I was hooked. I had the opportunity to use these skills often when I was working for the church and continue to not only teach editing, but I also do freelance videography whenever I have the opportunity.
I love this job and this school and feel fortunate to choose to come and work with these students every single day!
