Hi! My name is Mr. Hunter and I am so excited to be part of the Vineland Elementary team. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and moved to Englewood, FL over twenty years ago. I graduated college from Indiana University…GO HOOSIERS!, with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies and a love for working with children.
When I first moved to Florida I worked for the YMCA as the ChildCare Director and ran the program in the cafeteria at Vineland Elementary. My teaching career started with Island Village Montessori in Venice, FL where I taught third and fourth grade for eight years and was Principal for the last four years.
I am married to a wonderful woman, Mrs. Verna, who is the registrar at the school I came from. We have a beautiful daughter, Faith, who is starting her Freshman year at Lemon Bay High School this year and loves cheerleading. We also have two dogs, Taylor and Raven, that we all adore. I love to spend my free time at the beach and camping with my family. I look forward to helping you be the best student you can be!
“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . . but the world maybe different because I was important in the life of a child.”
