Mr. Bill Olson

Bill has been the Drama Director at CHS since the Fall of 2017.  He was born and raised in NYC and the surrounding NY area and has been a resident of SW Florida since 2016.  He has a B.F.A. in theatre production from University of Florida, and has also studied theatre arts/design and production at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he was awarded an artistic scholarship to study at the Winston-Salem campus.  He has attended graduate level course work in Acting and Directing in the M.F.A program at Florida Atlantic University/Boca Campus.  Bill spent seven years teaching theatre arts at Broward College in Davie, FL.

In addition to his academic experience, Bill has spent many years working professionally in theatre for various companies.  He has been both a resident stage manager for a LORT C Theatre in FL for six seasons as well as a touring production stage manager for national tours presented by NETworks, Inc. and Cirque Productions.  He spent three production seasons abroad in Europe as the Production Stage Manager for Wolfgang Bocksch productions where he managed European tours to five countries of the production of "Fame, the musical" and "Grease, Das musical".

Locally Bill is a part of the theatre community in Charlotte county as a presiding board member of the Charlotte Players for the past two years.  He has both performed in Players' productions and directed at the Langdon theater.  Additionally, Bill has been the summer director of the Charlotte Players - KidsOnStage "Thespian" productions since June 2017.
