Degrees and Certifications:
I am thrilled to be a Second Grade Teacher at MRE.
I’m a University of Florida graduate, in my eleventh year teaching! I began my teaching career in Gainesville, FL, after obtaining my Masters from UF, and taught there for eight years (Kindergarten, First, and Second). I moved to Jacksonville to be with my boyfriend at the time (we got married this summer) and taught First and Second grade. My husband got a promotion and raise to Seminole Gulf Railway, so we moved to Punta Gorda Isles this summer! I am just ecstatic Principal Shepard has granted me this great opportunity to teach in Charlotte County (Go Myakka Manatees!)
I believe in educating our children beyond academics; to be good citizens. We will work together to build our classroom community, understanding the benefits of teamwork. Our classroom is our home-away-from-home, and we will become family as we build a strong sense of community in the first few weeks. This helps contribute to our successes throughout the year. I am looking forward to an amazing year of growth!
