Degrees and Certifications:
I am thrilled to be teaching Third Grade at MRE.
I’m a University of Florida graduate, in my twelfth year teaching! I began my teaching career in Gainesville, FL, after obtaining my Masters from UF, and taught there for eight years (Kindergarten, First, and Second). I moved to Jacksonville to be with my boyfriend at the time (husband now) and taught First and Second grade. My husband got promoted to Seminole Gulf Railway, so we moved to Punta Gorda Isles last summer! I was just ecstatic Principal Shepard granted me the opportunity to teach at Myakka, and so excited to loop a lot of my Manatees!
I believe in educating our children beyond academics; to be good citizens. We will work together to build our classroom community, understanding the benefits of teamwork. Our classroom is our home-away-from-home, and we will become family as we build a strong sense of community in the first few weeks. This helps contribute to our successes throughout the year. I am looking forward to an amazing year of growth!
