Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Carrie Dillmore
I grew up in Englewood and attended Englewood Elementary and Lemon Bay Junior/Senior High School. That was back in the day before LA Ainger! I attended USF in Tampa where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I began my teaching career in Marathon Florida in the fabulous Florida Keys. I taught both Kindergarten and First Grade in the 13 years that I lived on Big Pine Key. I moved back to Englewood and began teaching in Port Charlotte at Peace River Elementary. At Peace River I taught K, 2-3 Remedial Reading, 2nd and 3rd grades as well as both 3rd & 4th grade gifted. I was also the Reading Coach for 4 years. Over those 15 years I added a Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy as well as my Gifted Certiication. I made the move to Myakka in the fall of 2017 as the Lead Teacher. My role is to provide professional development for teachers and to meet their needs in any way I can. I share my teaching expertise working with small groups of students and I am a liason between the teachers and administration. I get to be a part of goal setting, implementatrion and celebrating success at the school site level. I am so blessed to be a MANATEE!
