Mrs. Bishop
My name is Christy Bishop, and the 2018-19 school year will mark my 8th year as a teacher and my 13th year as a professional educator. My experience in the world of elementary education began when my daughter started kindergarten and I started volunteering at her school. Soon after, I began to work as a substitute teacher. I loved working with students so much that I decided to apply for a position as a paraprofessional. My first offical job with CCPS was as an ELL paraprofessional, working with students who spoke English as their second language. After two years in that position, I accepted a new position at the same school, directing the Family Resource Room, which included a book check-out program like the one we have here at Meadow Park. Working with students and their families in that position for three years convinced me that I wanted to become a teacher. In 2011, I accepted my first teaching position, teaching 5th grade at Memorial Elementary School in Arcadia, Florida. The following year I was offered a position teaching fourth grade at Meadow Park, and I have been here ever since. At Meadow Park, I taught fourth grade for four years before becoming an academic coach, the position I held for the past two years. Some families may know me from various school events and/or from All Pro Families. While I loved having the opportunity to work with so many teachers and families as an Academic Coach, late last year I decided that this year I would follow my heart back to the classroom. My certifications and endorsements include: K-6 Elementary Education Certification, ESE K-12 Certification, ELL Endorsement, and Reading Endorsement. I am super excited for the coming school year as a third grade teacher!

Dear Families,
Welcome back to school, and welcome to third grade! This is guaranteed to be an exciting year, full of new challenges and new accomplishments. My name is Christy Bishop, and I am both delighted and honored to be a teacher at Meadow Park Elementary School. At the heart of my teaching is the core belief that you, as a parent or guardian, are your child’s first and most important teacher, and that by you and I partnering together for the common good of your child, he/she can, and will, achieve AMAZING results! I look forward to the relationships we will build and the goals we will accomplish together this school year. Please never hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bishop
