Hi,my name is Ms. Mearns and I am a third grade teacher at East Elementary. I have taught at East since 2003, before that I taught fourth grade at Myakka River Elementary; beginning my career at Nocatee Elementary in DeSoto County teaching second grade. This year I begin my 28th year of teaching. I was raised right here in Punta Gorda and went to "the other Punta Gorda" elementary school... ;-)  I was born in West Virginia and still have strong roots there.
