Mrs. Lockhart

I grew up in the Charlotte County area and I am dedicated to being the best educator I possibly can. I hope to improve the learning in Charlotte County Schools. I graduated from Florida SouthWestern State College and earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

I have two children, a son and daughter, and a wonderful husband all of which I love deeply. My family has an infectious zest for life. As a family we enjoy taking trips to the zoo, aquarium, playing sports, and being outdoors. I have a passion for reading in my spare time; though I earn very little spare time between my career and busy life at home. I have a passion for what I do and strive to foster a love of learning for my students each day. It is a joy to watch as the children discover more about the world each day.

  • Homework policy:

Practice makes perfect… Or at least close to perfect. This means that homework must be completed when assigned. Students DO have homework each night. They must read at least 20 minutes. This does not need to be a chapter book. This can be anything they desire (comics, magazines, articles, etc..). Students will have homework other than independent reading each week. Please note this may not be each day of the week; it will vary according to our schedule and skills.

Students are also required to have planners signed each night as well as complete iReady lessons when assigned.

    Expectations:

    1. Be on time and in school all day every day
    2. Be Ready, Responsible, and Respectful
    3. Always demonstrate tolerance and respect for peers and staff
    4. Be in charge of your own learning

At Deep Creek Elementary School, we follow the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as the foundation for building strong leaders of character. It is important for families to be aware of what the 7 habits are since they will be referenced throughout the year. The 7 Habits students are expected to exhibit are:

    • Be Proactive
    • Begin with the End in Mind
    • Put First Things First
    • Think Win-Win
    • Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
    • Synergize
    • Sharpen the Saw
