Mr. Klispie is the organizer of our chorus.  This club is open to 4th and 5th grade students.  Please vist back in August to learn more about our chorus program.

Fishing Club

If you enjoy fishing join Coach Hayes.  This culb is all about fishing tips, tricks and skills.  You will even make your own lures.  Check back in August for more updates about the Fishing Club.

 Safety Patrol

Safety Patrol

Our carefully selected Safety Patrols are on campus first thing in the morning and at the end of the day, making sure everything is running smoothly.  In the morning they are safely helping students out of cars, directing foot traffic and helping in the cafeteria with the tremendous breakfast crowd, as well as helping in the Media Center.  In the afternoon they help  load students safely into their cars at dismissal, help kindergarten and pre-k students and make sure every class is out of our building so buses can begin bringing students home.  They are dependable, reliable and are held to a higher standard for their positions.

Our Mghty Manatee Student Leadership is sponsored by Mrs. Brady.  These students will set examples, fundraise for charities and do so much more throughout the school year.  Check back in August for more information on the Student Leadership Team.

Student Newspaper - Tech Club

This club will focus on producing a quarterly newspaper for Myakka River Elementary.  They will also learn and participate in technology inspired projects and learn and practice technology skills that will support them thoughout life.  Mrs. Hickman is the sponsor for our newspaper and tech club and more information will be avilable in August.

Would you like to help run a business?  This club will be establishing and running a daily school store.  These students prepared applications and were selected to start this new Myakka Club.  These students will also facilitate spirit stick sales for the 18-19 school year.  We are excited to see this club make a difference at MRE.  If you would like to know more about this club please contact Mrs. Dillmore our Mayakka Market Place sponsor.

Student Mentoring

Our student mentors are a dynamic group of student who like to help.  This group will be reaching out and working with students who need a buddy or someone they can count on for support at school.  Mrs. Hickman will be leading this club and will post more information in August.  We are excited to encourage kindness, compassion and support in our schools by students helping students.

WMRE - Daily Myakka River News Show

Mrs. Hamilton sponsors this group of 5th grade students.  They learn to produce a daily news show that is broadcast to the school every morning.  The learn to record, edit, and publish the news.  Additionally, they capture stories and events around the school.  It is a blast and if you volunteer on campus you might even get to catch a broadcast!
