Class Information
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR I
Course designed to provide entry level information and automotive fundamentals along with basic maintenance & light repair skills.
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR II
Prerequisite MLR I. Provides more advanced level automotive fundamentals with an emphasis on electrical theory, diagnostics & repair.
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR III
Prerequisite MLR II. Provides Entry level and medium level Brake, Steering & Suspension instruction along with hands on demonstrations and exercises.
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR IV
Prerequisite MLR I - III. Povides entry level instruction in Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, Automatic & Manual Transmission/Transaxle Fundamentals & Workplace soft skills.
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR V
Prerequisite MLR I-III. Expands on Instruction & tasks performed in MLR I-III to better prepare the student for the workplace or Post Secondary Automotive Instruction.
Maintenance & Light Repair MLR VI
Prerequisite MLR IV. Expands on Instruction & tasks performed in MLR IV to better prepare the student for the workplace or Post Secondary Automotive Instruction.
Automotive Directed Study
Students are provided with study material and instructions to explore ASE & Florida Automobile Dealer Association Certification exam standards and study guides. Students will work in groups to increase knowledge of applicable systems. Practice exams and group resource data searches will be performed along with shop demonstrations to prepare for certification exams approved by the Florida Department of Education.
