Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Long

I was born and raised in Van Wert, Ohio and moved to Englewood, FL with my family in 2016.  I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, IN and my teaching certificate from Florida Southwestern in 2019. Prior to teaching, I worked as a social worker that supported students with developmental disabilities.  This is my second year teaching fourth grade and first year at VES!

I love spending time with my family! My husband and I have been married for 13 years and we have three children. Mackenzie is 13 and in the eighth grade, Kaden is 10 and in fifth grade, and Emma is 7 and in the second grade.  We also have three dogs that are a big part of our family, Chance, Bella, and Mila!

I have a passion for education and am dedicated to building relationships with my students and their families! I strive to create a positive and fun environment so my students can learn and grow as learners!

Personal Mission Statement:
My mission as a teacher is to show my students that they can achieve anything!  I will strive to mold independent thinkers that learn to find solutions themselves.  I will form positive and encouraging relationships with my students and their families! I will create an inclusive and supportive environment for my students that supports learning and growth!
