Ana Maria Eyrich joined Vineland in 2018 as a Kindergarten teacher, and she will be moving to first grade with her Kindergarteners this year!

Mrs. Eyrich was born in Bogota, Colombia and came to the United States when she was ten years old. She went to both Elementary school and Middle school in Miami, and then moved to Cape Coral for high school. She graduated from Mariner High School -Go Tritons!

Shortly after graduating from high school, Mrs. Eyrich attended Florida Gulf Coast University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. While at FGCU, she met Mr. Eyrich, who is the Band Director at Lemon Bay High School. After teaching in Lee County in both Kindergarten and Third grade, she married her College sweet heart and moved to Rotonda West.

Mrs. Eyrich loves teaching and providing her students with the best teaching strategies. She makes the best out of each day and makes sure her students are safe and engaged in their learning. She hopes to have an amazing 2019-2020 school year and invites parents to be involved in their child’s education. 

In her free time Mrs. Eyrich loves going to Disney, watching movies, dancing, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Melissa Southwell first joined Vineland Elementary School as a 2nd grade student. After college, she returned and became part of our teaching staff. She is starting her 15th year, having taught first, second, and fifth grades during that time.

Although born in Toms River, New Jersey, Melissa has resided in Englewood since 1989. She received her Bachelors Degree in Pre-K/Primary/Elementary from Florida Southern College. In 2008, she attained her National Board certification in Early Childhood Education.

When not at school, Mrs. Southwell is devoted to her family. She has been married for 12 years to “Coach” Southwell, a teacher and football coach at Lemon Bay High School. They have an 8 year old daughter, Summer, who is in 3rd grade, and a 4 year old son, Sawyer, who is in VPK. Her family recently rescued a yellow lab puppy to add to their family. Mrs. Southwell enjoys all things having to do with the water. She was a competitive swimmer through college. She still enjoys swimming, and loves to boat, fish, and relax on the beach whenever possible. Mrs. Southwell has always loved learning and helping others, especially children. She hopes to make a positive and lasting impression in the lives of her students.

Mrs. Walz joins us from the buckeye state. This is her second year at Vineland Elementary and this will be her 6th year teaching first graders. She earned her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Antioch Midwest University. She has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from The University of Cincinnati.  Mrs. Walz has 3 children. Her daughter is a recent college graduate of Kettering College and is now a BSN RN for the Kettering Medical Network. One of her sons is attending The University of Cincinnati as well as being a member of The Ohio Army National Guard and will be heading out on a deployment this year. Her youngest son will be a senior at North Port High School. Mrs. Walz enjoys spending time outdoors near the water and loves to read.

 Personal Mission Statement: I believe that every student brings their best to school each day. Together, we will build relationships that will create communities of learners and allow the students to support and encourage each other. I also value the parent-teacher relationship. I believe we are a team working together to ensure the success of each student. I want each student to catch my love of learning and become a lifetime learner.
