• Work in progress: We will have Media Center  Orientation on Wednesday, August 15. Ms. Sheehan, our media specialist, will facilitate. We will be checking out books and working out a schedule for the year to better ulilize our great resource.

Thursday, August 16 we will continue our get to know you activity and start work on Middle School Writing. Then, we will start our class novel. Every one is reading "Comet in  Moominland" a charming Finnish novel about community, decision making, and helping others

I was having trouble with the website, but hope it is back on track. all students had a basic worksheet on Parts of Speech, which they graded and I will get in Focus.  We are required by the county to do a writing test this week and are waiting for word on that. I f we don’t get our materials, we will work on writing skills and begin our class novel

Monday, August 27: All classses had a lesson on improving writing skills, except for period six, who are still working on Parts of Speech. All classes started their class novel, a lovely Finnish book. Writing tests are finished and the grading has begun.

    Tuesday: no school

Wednesday: We will work more on writing skills and read more of our novel.

Now that we are improved on this, please look to the assignments for more information. Scroll way down to see. Thank you

  • Almost half a year gone already !

Posted by Kathleen Walsh on 11/16/2018

We have really come a long way so far this year. We have read a novel, done projects, written short stories, studied two short stories, read articles, made some fun treats, watched Finnish television, learned more about good writing. I am proud of what we have accomplished so far.

  • Finnish Treat

Posted by Kathleen Walsh on 9/28/2018

To celebrate our class novel, we will have a Finnish treat on Friday. It is food and if anyone has allergies they are free not to partake, but as Finland is one of the healthiest countries in the world, it is within their guidelines and should be okay for most students.
