Basic first aid skills and injury prevention are taught to 8- to 10-year-olds or fourth through sixth-grade. Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte County
The Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County provides a solution to the problems facing youth today.
The Club attracts and guides young people with core programs in five areas:
- Character and Leadership Development - empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others' cultural identities.
- Education and Career Development - enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
- Health and Life Skills - develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
- The Arts - enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
- Sports, Fitness and Recreation - develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte County offer a 21st CCLC After School program at the Family Services Center for students from (Liberty, Meadow Park & Neil Armstrong); In Englewood  at both  Vineland Elementary & Myakka River Elementary Schools  and Port Charlotte High School. The Boys & Girls Clubs offers before & after school 21st CCLC programs at Murdock Middle School & LA Ainger Middle School. The 21st CCLC programs at all 6 locations are FREE. Each site provides a daily snack to all participants. The program includes homework help, tutoring, mentoring, FCAT preparation; in additional to traditional Boys & Girls Clubs programs & activities. A Before School program exists at both Punta Gorda Middle School & Port Charlotte Middle School for students in each of those respective schools, there is a minimal fee charged to those students. Heron Hangout at Vineland Elementary School
Vineland Elementary's Extended Day Program offers students the opportunity to be engaged in Enrichment Classes geared toward their age level and interests! Math Games, Spanish, Culture Club, Book Club, Wii Dance, Computer Exploration, and Art in Science to name a few. Daily schedules include Snack and Fellowship Time, Homework or Free Choice, 2 Enrichment Classes and Outdoor Free Activity Time! Our professional staff is comprised of VES Teachers and Para Professionals who ensure a caring, organized, and quality program. Allow us to make your child's before and after school time worthwhile!

LEAP at Liberty Elementary
Looking for before and/or afterschool care? Liberty Elementary is very proud to offer a before-school and after-school enrichment program. We believe afterschool time should not be wasted. It can be fun with an emphasis on learning. Learning by doing is our philosophy.

New Operation Cooper Street
New Operation Cooper Street is a K-12 After School Program licensed by the Department of Children and Families, serving students attending Sallie Jones, East, Peace River, Liberty and Deep Creek Elementary schools. Students in secondary grades are served with proceeds from other grant sources. Transportation is provided daily from the schools to the center. Hours of operation are from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Children work on completing homework assignments assisted by teachers, tutors, and community volunteers. Hot meals or snacks are served daily. Students participate in supervised indoor/outdoor activities, drama, reading clubs, tennis, martial arts, piano lessons, and computer technology.
During the month of June, the New Operation Cooper Street offers a 4-week Summer Camp to accommodate the students attending the year-round schools.

Police Athletic League (PAL)
The Police Athletic Program at the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is an exciting opportunity to work and play sports with youths and give them crime prevention and law enforcement education at the same time. PAL focuses on academics, athletics and relationships between community and law enforcement. PAL offers after school and summer camp programs.

Small World Christian Learning Center/Camp Joy
Small World Christian Learning Center/Camp Joy, a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, is devoted to sharing the Word of God with families in a quality childcare environment. During the year our buses transport from six (6) local elementary schools (Deep Creek, Kingsway, Neil Armstrong, Liberty, Meadow Park and Peace River) to our center for after school care. We provide students with a nutritious afternoon snack, devotion time, homework time as well as indoor/outdoor activities. On most days that public schools are closed to students, we provide a fun filled full day program including field trips. We also offer a unique summer program with daily field trips to exciting, educational and recreational events and attractions.
We have provided quality childcare since 1976. We are accredited by the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS), the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS), hold the FLOCS Silver Seal of Excellence and the Florida Gold Seal from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Camp Joy hours are 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday thru Friday when school is in session. On days public schools are closed and we are open, the hours of operation are 6:45 am – 6:00 pm.

YMCA
Ages 4-12 Years. At our Afterschool Sites, the staff provide a safe and fun atmosphere for families who require care for their children during the school year. Care is provided right on school premises. Care is provided at six school sites, including Charlotte Harbor Center which serves children with special needs. PM Snack is provided at each site. (Deep Creek, East, Sallie Jones, Meadow Park, Neil Armstrong and Kingsway.) $25 registration fee; $45/week. For both Before and Afterschool care: $25 registration fee; $55/week. $100 deposit for non-EFT.
