PDA Staff Profiles
Chuck Bradley
Chuck has been with CCPS since 2004 as Director of Professional Development. He has 20 years of experience in Florida public schools as a classroom teacher, Staff Development Coordinator, and Measurement & Research Specialist. He also worked as a regional trainer and training coordinator for the West Central Educational Leadership Network, a consortium of thirteen districts on the west coast of Florida. Chuck worked with CCPS as the lead facilitator during the 2002-03 CCPS Visioning project.
Among Chuck's primary responsibilities include leadership/administrator training, strategic planning, school improvement, and administration of the Professional Development Academy. He also is an active trainer for "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", "Four Roles of Leadership", "Four Disciplines of Execution", "Speed of Trust", "FOCUS", and several components of the DELTA program. He serves as the district representative on professional development, school improvement, and other areas with the Florida Department of Education and the Leadership Collaborative of the Anchin Center at the University of South Florida.
In his spare time, Chuck enjoys music (he's an organist and choir director), genealogy, working out, and time with family and friends.

Mary Leonard
Mary has been working for Charlotte County Public Schools since August, 1989. In this district, she has served as an elementary school teacher, CRT (Curriculum Resource Teacher), Curriculum and Instruction Specialist for Reading and Language Arts, and is presently the Assistant Director of Professional Development.
Among Mary's primary reponsibilities in the Professional Development Academy are coordinating the New Educator Training (NET) Program and serving as the main contact for professional development for teachers. In addition, she facilitates the Florida Online Reading Professional Development (FOR-PD) course for UCF/DOE and oversees the practicum (Competency 6) of the reading endorsement.
Mary is married to Tim Leonard, PCHS math teacher. She is mother of two daughters (and Pirates!), Amy and Melissa, who attended Kindergarten - 12th grade in Charlotte County Schools.

Peggy Stoever
Peggy has lived in Punta Gorda all of her life. On July 12, 1972 she started as a secretary in the Division of Instruction and is completing her 35th year in our district. Peggy is responsible for all aspects of teacher certification from initially applying to renewing a professional teaching certificate and everything in between.
Peggy is married to Bob Stoever and has two daughters who grew up in our school system from
K-12. Bobbi Jesse is married to Tim Jesse and is an ultrasound technician. Rhonda is a property accountant in downtown Jacksonville. Her spare time is spent with family and friends.

Francis "Fran" Holleran
Fran has been with Charlotte County Public Schools since 1982, moving from the Thousand Islands region of upstate New York on the Canadian border. His teaching experiences include assignments as a middle and high school social studies teacher, guidance counselor and 10 years as the district Curriculum Specialist for Social Science prior to joining the Professional Development Academy team in August 2007.
He has been very active in promoting social studies education by his affiliation with regional, state and national social studies organizations, having served as a past president of the Florida Council for the Social Studies and currently serves as the President of NSSSA, the National Social Studies Supervisors Association.
Fran's duties as a teacher-on-assignment in the Professional Development Academy include mentoring newly hired and peer teachers in the New Educator Training Program, assisting in the area of alternative certification and facilitating district professional development activities.
Fran is married to Mary Jo Holleran, the Career Counselor at Lemon Bay High School. Daughter Erin, a student at University of Central Florida and son Michael, a student at Lemon Bay High School are both students of the many fine educators in the Charlotte County Public Schools.

Marcia Doeble
Marcia is a 22 year veteran of the district, beginning her career in 1984 at Port Charlotte High School. (Yes, I am a Pirate!) She transferred to the Division of Learning at the district office in 2004, where she provided secretarial services to the Curriculum and Instruction Specialists. In 2005, Marcia joined the staff of the Professional Development Academy, as secretary to Mary Leonard and Chuck Bradley.
Marcia’s work location is at the CCPS Professional Development Center in Charlotte Harbor. She is very instrumental in scheduling inservice activities and providing services for opportunities that enhance the professional development of all employees. In addition, she coordinates the placement of university interns.
Marcia is a graduate of Florida Southern College, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies. She is the mother of a daughter, Heather, and two stepsons, Lance and Chad. She delights in two special CCPS elementary students – her granddaughters, Bree and Taylor.

Cindy Weant
Cindy has worked with Charlotte County Public Schools since 1984. She has worked in the capacity of secretary at Port Charlotte High, L.A. Ainger Middle School, New Challenge Alternative School and also the District Office in the Secondary Education and Vocational Departments. Cindy transferred to the Professional Development Center in July 2006 as secretary for Chuck Bradley and Mary Leonard.
Among the various responsibilities in assisting Chuck and Mary at PDC, Cindy can also help with your registration for district workshops and room use and set-up for your workshops. She thoroughly enjoys the workshops and helping Marcia with the “hospitality” portion of their job.
Cindy is married to John Weant, Director of Information and Communication Services for Charlotte County. She has two children- a daughter, Carly, in Georgia and one grandson, Logan, and a son in Port Charlotte, Grant. She enjoys RVing and motorcycling with her family and takes frequent trips to Georgia.
